WARREN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Three students from Bowling Green Junior High School have designed an app to help dementia patients.

The app is called “Memory Matters”. It’s a game in which pictures are matched to words.

Jackson Smith, Trey Duff, and Carter Smith created the app for use in nursing homes to help those with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

The trio says the game is different from others because you’re able to add your own pictures and your own text, and it’s easy for elderly adults to understand and use.

At least 5.8 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease.
