MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WBON) – Richmond police arrested a man who they say violated a domestic violence order and assaulted his girlfriend.
According to WBON-TV, police say that Jesse Allen Saunders has been arguing with his girlfriend throughout the day before the incident occurred. Saunders’ girlfriend texted a friend to come pick her up and police say the situation escalated from there.
The girlfriend told investigators that Saunders struck her in the right eye and proceeded to hold her down and prevent her from moving.
While on scene, police learned that the girlfriend had previously filed a Domestic Violence Order against the suspect. Saunders was charged with fourth-degree assault. He’s lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
