FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18)– Governor Matt Bevin has requested a presidential disaster declaration for 58 Kentucky counties, including many in central and eastern Kentucky.
All were impacted during severe weather in February and March.
The system produced extended episodes of strong winds and torrential rain which caused flooding, flash flooding, landslides, and mudslides.
Three people were killed.
Bevin says there has been over $41 million in damages statewide.
A presidential disaster declaration would pave the way for federal assistance.
