Groundbreaking For Christian County Horse Racing Venue

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Churchill Downs Inc. and Keeneland will break ground Tuesday on a new racing and entertainment venue in Christian County.

The $150 million venue is described as ‘state-of-the-art’ and ‘historical’.

The facility in Oak Grove will feature up to 1,500 historical racing machines, a 125 room hotel, a 1,200 person capacity grandstand, and indoor event space.

There will also be an outdoor amphitheater and stage, and an equestrian center with indoor and outdoor arenas.

The project is expected to be finished by 2021.

The ceremony is set for 10 a.m. CT.
