LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man has been arrested after police say he fired a gun in a neighborhood when children were playing nearby.

It happened around 6 p.m. Monday on Will Fant Drive.

According to an arrest citation, 28-year-old Xavier Kareem Floyd intentionally fired a gun and caused under $500 worth of damage to an individual’s property. He was reportedly in close proximity to several groups of children playing nearby.

Police say Floyd has a previous felony charges and a restraining order that states he is not supposed to have a gun.
