MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Officials say an inmate has escaped from the Green River Correctional Complex.

In a Facebook post, Muhlenburg County 911 described Charles Pedigo as being in his mid-40s, standing at 5’9″, and weighing 230 pounds. They say he has a short goatee and green eyes.

They added that Pedigo is serving time on an assault charge.

He reportedly has ties to Allen, Hardin, and Simpson counties.

Officials are encouraging citizens to exercise caution while outside, keep all doors and windows locked and secure, do not pick up any hitchhikers, and report all suspicious activity to the authorities.
