UPDATE: Police Say Autopsy Shows Frankfort Man Was Stabbed To Death

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Frankfort Police officers are investigating after a man was found dead on Friday night.

Officials said 45-year-old Phillip J. Hellard of Frankfort was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive about 10:40 p.m. near the 700 block of Owenton Avenue.

Police tell us responding officers found Hellard on the ground.

Reportedly autopsy results made available on Saturday showed that Hellard died from a single stab wound to the chest. Police say he lived in Frankfort but it is unclear if he lived on the street where his body was found.

Detectives have not identified a suspect yet.
