Laurel County Man Pleads Guilty In Alleged Murder Of Step-Father

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man accused of shooting and killing his step-father has entered a guilty plea.

According to the Times-Tribune, 37-year-old John Stricker pleaded guilty but mentally ill to one county of murder late last week.

Police say Stricker shot and killed his stepfather, Donnie Stone, back in October of 2016.

Officers say they found the 62-year-old shot several times and left for dead inside his London home.

Stricker previously told LEX 18 “the military” told him to shoot his step-father.

Formal sentencing in the case is set for 11 a.m., May 9.
