HARRODSBURG, Ky. (LEX 18) – The standoff in Mercer County ended peacefully.
Deputies were outside of a home in the Cottonwood subdivision just outside of Harrodsburg after a man with a rifle barricaded himself in his home for nearly 12 hours.
The only thing he had requested is a pack of cigarettes.
Police say that the man’s wife was in another part of the house, but she safely exited the building.
The man surrendered and was not hurt and he is going to be taken to the hospital.
Last Sunday, police say the man was threatening to harm himself, but he surrendered after a few hours without harming himself or anyone else.
