LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Lexington man was arrested after being accused in a knife attack that sent another man to an area hospital.

Police arrested 40-year-old Roy Mulligan on Friday after the alleged attack.

According to court records, witnesses said the incident began as an argument in the parking lot of Burger King on New Circle Road near Russell Cave Road on the city’s north side.

Police said at some point Mulligan pulled out a pocket knife and cut the other man numerous times.

Authorities said the victim suffered a collapsed lung and large cuts to his back and groin.

Police arrested Mulligan later at his home.

He was charged with first-degree assault.
