BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Bourbon Central Elementary was evacuated due to a gas leak Thursday.

North Meadowhill Road, Castle Blvd., and Bethlehem Road were closed at this time.

Students were taken to Bourbon County High School where parents picked them up.

“From the time we first got here, probably within about 10-15 minutes, we had everybody in this area evacuated. Of course, some of them were already gone to work. The children were evacuated to different sections of the building at first, and then they were moved in that time to another building, and now they’ve been moved totally off this campus,” said Chief Michael Duffy with the Paris Fire Department.
