LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)- Multiple events on Friday are expected to cause some traffic delays in Lexington.
Traffic congestion and some street closures will be in effect due to:
- University of Kentucky commencement ceremonies at Rupp Arena (10 a.m. and 2 p.m.)
- Oaks Day racing festivities at Keeneland
- Visit from Vice President Mike Pence
Lexington Police have issued a general traffic advisory in the areas of downtown/Rupp Area, Keeneland, Blue Grass Airport, and Loudon Avenue. Traffic is expected to be heavy in those areas beginning late Friday morning and continuing into the evening rush hour.
Police are asking drivers to be patient and to allow extra time for their commute.
