MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A Kentucky volunteer firefighter was badly hurt in a crash last weekend in Colorado.
Erik Haslem worked with the Waco Volunteer Fire Department while studying at Eastern Kentucky University.
According to his family, Haslem was riding a motorcycle last Saturday in Lakewood, Colo., when he collided with a Jeep.
He was seriously hurt, suffering brain trauma and a severed spinal cord.
Haslem’s family says he is being treated in the ICU and doctors say he has a long recovery ahead.
