1 Dead, Firefighter Injured In Grayson County Crash

GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– One person is dead following a crash in Grayson County.

It happened around 8:53 a.m. Saturday near Spurrier Road.

Kentucky State Police say 65-year-old Dale Darst, an East Grayson County firefighter, was traveling north when he crossed the center line and into the path of a Ford Explorer that was traveling southbound.

Darst was reportedly returning to the fire house after responding to another collision that had occurred earlier in the morning.

The driver of the Ford Explorer was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to KSP.

Darst was transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
