MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Mercer County High School senior was killed and another student was injured Saturday morning in a crash in Madison County.
Coroner’s officials say 18-year-old Marcus Lewis II died in the wreck.
A news release from Mercer County Schools said Lewis was driving with a another student to Richmond to a National Guard drill when the vehicle left the roadway and slammed into a tree.
The other student was taken to an area hospital. That student’s condition was not disclosed.
School officials said counselors will be available for grieving students.
