LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Officials with the Fayette County Coroner’s office said Monday that a motorcyclist has died after a collision with a pickup truck near the back gate of Keeneland Racecourse.

Officials said 30-year-old Dustin Makaris of Lexington was pronounced dead just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

Police have charged Allison Rhoads with driving under the influence in the collision, which occurred just after 9 p.m. Sunday on Rice Road.

Makaris was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The coroner did not list an official cause of death in case, pending an autopsy, but said he died of injuries sustained in the crash.

Police said Rhoads stayed at the scene of the crash, where she was arrested and charged with DUI.

In court, she appeared by video arraignment and asked the judge if he would lower her $2,500 full cash bond. He said no.

She is due back in court on May 15th.
