Inmate Dies After Medical Emergency

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) – An inmate in the Franklin County jail has died following a medical emergency.

According to officials, an inmate at the jail had been found in medical distress by jail staff. The inmate was transported to the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

David D. Drury, 48, was later pronounced deceased by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.

An investigation into the death of the inmate is being conducted by the Frankfort Police Department.

Franklin County Jailer Rick Rogers said, “Out of respect for the family, and the fact that there is an on-going investigation, I cannot comment any further at this time.
