BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18/WCPO) — A Lexington man is facing multiple charges after being accused of leading police on a dangerous, high-speed chase early Tuesday morning through several counties.

Nathanael Lee Druggan

The Scott County Sheriff’s Department says 23-year-old Nathanael Lee Druggan of Lexington was spotted just after midnight driving recklessly northbound on Interstate Highway 75.

Authorities say Druggan nearly hit a Scott County deputy’s squad car, then turned his headlights off and sped away when the officer attempted to pull him over.

Officials said Druggan was pursued by several different law enforcement agencies as he traveled into northern Kentucky.

He allegedly circled back and was headed southbound on I-75 when police were able to disable his vehicle using a spike strip near the 183 mile marker.

Police say Druggan resisted arrest but was returned to Scott County, where he was being held.

Druggan was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing and evading police, reckless driving and speeding more than 26 m.p.h. over the posted limit.

Druggan bonded out of the Scott County Detention Center.
