LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3)– The owner of a dog that attacked and and killed a toddler is speaking out for the first time.

The incident happened last Thursday in Louisville.

The dog’s owner is roommates with 2-year-old Isaiah Geiling’s step-father.

He says the dog, King, and Isaiah were watching TV when King nuzzled Isaiah to play and things got carried away.

Isaiah ultimately died from his injuries.

King’s owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, says nothing like this has happened before.

He also says even though he loves King, he doesn’t want him back.

“I know it was an accident, but at the same time he did take a boy’s life accidentally, but eye for an eye you know, little boy died [so] he deserves to die.”

Right now, King is under a mandatory 10-day quarantine at Louisville Metro Animal Services.

Once that’s up, the owner has to go to court.

Since he doesn’t want the dog back, LMPD will ultimately decide what happens to King.
