LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) -Authorities in Frankfort have arrested a Detroit man accused of a violent Michigan murder.
Deputies and US Marshals surprised Martez Ford as he was shopping at a gas station on Schenkel Lane.
Marshals say he is charged with premeditated murder out of Detroit. Authorities say that Ford shot a man in March. He is also accused of putting the victim’s body in a vehicle and setting it on fire.
Ford had been living in Frankfort for a few weeks. He was spotted inside the store Wednesday afternoon when he was ambushed by officers.
Deputies say that Ford also threw a bunch of heroin out and tried to run but was captured.
