LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington police said a man who attempted to rob a gas station early Sunday morning didn’t get away with any money but he did get away.

Authorities said the robbery attempt occurred just after midnight at the Shell gas station on Towne Center Drive, just off of Leestown Road.

Police say a man entered the gas station and demanded money.

But when he tried to come around the counter, police said, the clerk fired a shot at him.

The would-be robber then fled the store.

Officers searched the nearby area but were unable to locate the suspect.

No one was injured in the incident.
