LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – A man caught on UK’s campus with a gun has been sentenced to federal prison time.
Officials confirm that Diontre Lawayne Davis of Texas was arrested in 2017 in UK’s Buell Armory on campus. A staff member called and reported Davis as being a suspicious individual. He had previously been investigated in connection to harnessing social media posts against a UK student.
Officers found a gun on Davis. The area around Buell Armory was evacuated.
Davis pleaded guilty to threatening communications and has been sentenced to 46 months in prison. He will be placed on supervised release for three years following his release.
Under federal law, Davis must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence.
