Police say 30-year-old Djuantez Anthony Mitchell was shot after he hit Officer Bryan Arnold with his car in Jeffersontown on Wednesday.
Mitchell was being monitored in connection to a series of robberies in the area over the past week.
LMPD’s chief says the officer who shot Mitchell is normally a helicopter pilot, but was assisting in the investigation and therefore was not wearing a body-camera.
The Public Integrity Unit is investigating.
