DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE)– A 2-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was found in a pond.
It happened around 7:24 p.m. Friday on North Chestnut Grove Road in the Lewisport area.
First responders tell WFIE that when they arrived on the scene, several people were performing CPR on a 2-year-old boy next to a pond.
He and another 12-year-old were reportedly playing in the yard near a home while the parents were working in the yard. When the family noticed the children were missing, they started searching for them.
According to WFIE, two men found the child in the pond, immediately jumped in, and pulled him from the water. The second 2-year-old was found unharmed.
The child rushed to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital and then flown to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville.
