BARREN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A Barren County man is accused of walking away from a Nelson County drug rehab, then going on a crime spree.

27-year-old James Robinson, of Glasgow, now faces a long list of charges, including robbery and burglary.

Police in Nelson County were called to Ed Pulliam Drive in Chaplin following reports of a break-in.

After arriving on scene, they learned Robinson allegedly broke into one home, then fled when he was confronted by the occupants.

He then allegedly broke into another nearby home, took keys from the residence, then stole the car in their driveway.

Robinson then reportedly crashed the car.

When a passerby stopped to offer help, he allegedly tried to steal a pickup truck, but the owner held on and was able to shut off the truck.

He then allegedly climbed into the back of a third vehicle, before police arrived and took him into custody.

He is being held in the Nelson County Detention Center.
