DANVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18)– Police in Danville say they responded to a shooting at a home on Cloverdale Drive Sunday morning.

Responding officers got to the home around 9:58 a.m. where they located 40-year-old Michael Hicks suffering from two gunshot wounds, one to the arm and a grazing wound on his ear.

He was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Police say that Hicks had been in a verbal altercation with his stepfather, 59-year-old Anthony Cox. Police say that Hicks had made several threats against Cox, his mother, and a 15-year-old man.

A press release from the police department said that when Hick attempted to approach the three, Cox fired three shots.

Hicks was treated at the hospital and then taken into custody on charges of Menacing and Terroristic Threatening third degree.

He was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
