(LEX 18) — Gov. Matt Bevin didn’t make any campaign stops Tuesday, instead going to a town hall in Woodford County.

During the town hall, he encouraged voters to vote. He told them regardless of who they wanted to vote for, the most important thing they could do is cast a ballot.

The governor has made it clear that he wants another term in office, but told people at the town hall that he loves the fact that he has challengers in this primary. He said, “it’s awesome, it’s so American.”

He didn’t have much to say about the primary, but he was not expecting an upset.

“I think we’ll be fine. The voters will decide. We’ll know after the polls close,” he said.

President Donald Trump tweeted his support for the governor.
