ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Rocky Adkins was very confident as he voted Tuesday morning at the Perkins Community Center.

The State House Minority Leader told LEX 18 that he thinks that the formula for beating Gov. Matt Bevin in November is simple: make sure Adkins wins the primary election.

Adkins is a household name in Eastern Kentucky, having been the point guard for the Morehead State basketball team in his college days. Adkins is proud of his roots and said he is proud of the campaign he has run.

“I slept good last night. When you give it all you got, you leave it all out there and you know that you’ve done everything you can do to win a campaign. Even though you’re anxious even though you know this day’s been coming you’ve been working weeks and months to prepare for it I think we’ve positioned ourselves well for a win today. I really do,” said Adkins.

Adkins will be watching the results from Rowan County.
