LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Lexington said an hourslong standoff ended peacefully Sunday after shots were fired on the city’s south side.

Police said they took Clint Davis into custody around 10:30 a.m. He will be charged with wanton endangerment, officials said.
Authorities said the incident began after reports of shots being fired near Spangler Drive.
Just after 4 a.m., Lexington police responded to the area. Officials said a man who lives on Backhand Court apparently stepped outside his home and fired the shots.
It was unclear if police were able to make contact with the man. A LEX 18 crew witnessed the use of a robot but it was not immediately disclosed whether the emergency response team were talking with the man.
Police had asked nearby residents to shelter in place.
