BURKESVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Burkesville man was arrested on DUI charges after two people were killed Saturday night in a head-on crash.

Authorities said 28-year-old Christian Parrish was under the influence around 11 p.m. when the 2000 Ford he was driving eastbound on Kentucky Highway 90 crossed into oncoming traffic.

Police said Parrish’s vehicle struck a 2012 Nissan driven by 67-year-old Barbara Arms. Arms and her passenger, 74-year-old Bobby Arms, both of Burkesville, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Officials said Parrish was taken to Cumberland County Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Police charged Parrish with first-degree driving under the influence and failure to wear a seatbelt.

He was being held in the Adair County Regional Jail.
