BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– After hours of investigating, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is confirming a missing boater has been found.

A group of boaters called 911 when they noticed the remains Monday morning near the Constance Marina in Hebron.

Authorities say they believe the body is that of 31-year-old Whitney Crank, who fell from a boat into the Ohio River on May 18.

Efforts to save the Erlanger native failed. We’re told she wasn’t wearing a life jacket.

Although rescue crews are calling it an accident, the investigation continues.

One other person was with Crank at the time of the incident.

Fish and wildlife officials are urging boaters to be cautious while out on the water this summer, and to wear life jackets.
