ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A team from Estill County is headed for Ohio following a tornado outbreak that killed at least one person and destroyed multiple homes and businesses.

The Hunter Hounds K-9 team will be heading there Thursday morning to bring supplies and offer their team’s assistance in the recovery.

We’re told they’ll likely be checking out homes, making sure no one is trapped, finding people that can’t be located, and helping out however they can.

But before they leave, they have some needs that are crucial to their mission.

“Water is one of the main things, anything that is non-perishable,” said David Conrad of Hunter Hounds. “We’ll even take containers so people that’s lost everything can gather their belongings up and put in containers.”

Conrad says the team has a semi on standby for the supplies.

If you can help, donations can be brought to the Estill County Fairgrounds on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
