BEREA, Ky. (WBON) –  A former teacher from Madison Southern High School in Berea was arrested Wednesday on charges of distribution of obscene matter to a minor following an investigation by Kentucky State Police.

According to WBON, Jordan Chapman allegedly sent pictures and a video of his genitals to a former 17-year-old student. At the time of the alleged offense, Chapman was not working for Madison County Schools and had moved out of the area.

Citations report that the investigation began when multiple students were allegedly contacted by their former teacher.

Police say that the communication occurred late last year after he had left Madison County Schools to work in Grayson County. Chapman was non-renewed from his position at MSHS, where he had worked from 2015 to 2018.

Chapman resigned from his position at Grayson County Schools in February of this year.

He was arrested and then released from the Madison County Detention center on a conditional bond of $1,000. He is not to have contact with the victim.
