LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office arrested five people Tuesday evening while investigating a drug complaint.

Deputies say a man in the residence was in possession of digital scales, a large sum of U.S. currency, 87 handguns and long guns, two of which had been reported as stolen. The man was also in possession of marijuana, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

The resident, 69-year-old Donald Jones, is a convicted felon, according to deputies. While arresting Jones, four others pulled up into the driveway of the residence.

Jones was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, two counts of receiving stolen property, and trafficking marijuana.

Jones told LEX 18 that he enjoys collecting guns. Investigators say they have a working theory that Jones sold drugs in the area and in lieu of cash payments, people would pay in guns. Jones denied that while speaking to LEX 18.

Eddie Wilburn, 61, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

Kirstyn Ashely Swanner, 24, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, no registration plates, and possession of marijuana.

Heather R. Sizemore, 21, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

Robin Weaver, 23, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. Weaver was wanted on a warrant for failing to appear in court.

All five were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
