GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) – Family and friends are raising funds for a severely injured Georgetown police officer who is stable but critical following a hit-and-run crash in Wisconsin.
According to a post on the organization’s Facebook page, Officer Cole Centner was critically injured while driving on a rural Wisconsin road. Cole was hit by another driver. That man fled the crash scene, leaving Cole with broken legs, broken ribs, a concussion and a collapsed lung. He was airlifted from the scene.
Centner and his wife are expecting their first child and he was on his way to their baby shower when the crash occurred.
Cole’s family have started a GoFundMe page to help with medical expenses. The couple’s child is due in July.
Centner’s sister says it will be a few days before her brother is able to be transported to UK Medical Center.
