LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE 3)– Donations are needed for a two-month-old baby who remains on life support after police say he was abused by his father.
WAVE 3 reports that neighbors say Donnie Rowe asked neighbors for help last Friday night. They tell WAVE 3 news that the baby, Bryson Rowe, appeared to be gasping for air.
Police say the infant wasn’t taken to the hospital until Saturday.
According to the report from WAVE 3 News, police say that Bryson Rowe suffered multiple skull fractures, retinal hemorrhages, and several other injuries. They say those injuries are consistent with abusive head trauma.
Officers say that Donnie Rowe admitted to officers that he was on drugs and had caused his child’s injuries. He faces assault and abuse charges and is due in court on June 24. WAVE 3 reports that Donnie is being held on a $500,000 bond.
A relative started a GoFundMe account to raise money for the infant’s mother, who is unable to work right now. Doctors said that if Bryson survives, he may have medical issues for the rest of his life.
