LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 11 Office advises motorists that two bridges will be closed starting Monday.

The KY 80 bridge over Lick Fork Creek at milepoint 17.708 and the KY 80 bridge over Hoophole Creek at milepoint 22.232 will be closed beginning June 17 and are expected to re-open July 18.

The bridge closure is necessary due to bridge repair and superstructure rehab operations.

  • Lick Fork Creek: A signed detour will be in place via KY 1305 and Lick Fork Creek Road.
  • Hoophole Creek: A signed detour will be in place via KY 1803.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.

The date and time could be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
