BREATHITT COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Officials say that the discovery of two bodies in Breathitt County is now being investigated as a murder-suicide.
According to the Breathitt County Sheriff’s Office Alice Herald, 55, and James Hale, 57, were both found dead of gunshot wounds in a home along Highway 30 West in the Shoulderblade community. The Breathitt County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call about two people unresponsive in the home around 10:20 a.m. Monday.
Investigators believe that Alice shot James and then turned the gun on herself. The families had not heard from either of them in a while so James’ brother came to investigate.
The state of the bodies indicate the shooting occurred about 5-10 days ago.
