NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) – A Nicholasville police officer was involved in a crash in Jessamine County, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports.
According to an email from the state agency, the crash happened on US 27 between Shun Pike and Wichita Drive. Nicholasville police say the officer was traveling north on the road and another car was turning left onto Edgewood when they both collided.
Multiple witnesses tell LEX 18 that the officer ran a red light.
Both drivers had minor injuries.
The roadway has reopened.
