Puppies Found Abused In McCracken Co. Recovering

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (WPSD)– Two puppies found badly abused in McCracken County are starting to recover as authorities continue to search for the person responsible.

The puppies, Poe and Poppy, are growing stronger every day after suffering some of the worst abuse the McCracken County Humane Society has ever seen.

The puppies were found last week walking near the woods off Metropolis Ferry Landing Road in West Paducah. A third puppy was found dead inside a plastic bag. Their tails were clipped, they were starved, and their ears were sewn back with upholstery thread.

As Poe and Poppy continue to improve, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the person responsible for the abuse. They say they are at a bit of a standstill right now and would like some help from the public.

Once the puppies gain more weight, they’ll go to a vet to have the thread removed from their ears.

Before long, they’ll hopefully find the loving forever homes they deserve.
