Lexington Police Investigate After Man Found Shot On North Side

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Police in Lexington were seeking help from the public as they investigate a shooting Friday night that sent one man to the hospital.

Authorities said the shooting happened before 5 p.m. near Konner Woods Drive.

Police said that responding officers found a man shot and seriously injured. The victim, police said, sought out help from a neighbor and later was rushed to an area hospital.

For part of the evening, police had Konner Woods Drive shut down as they investigated. Two homes were cordoned off with police, which was jarring for some neighbors.

“I pulled in and I could not believe that I saw five police officer cars and I saw detectives and the street was blocked off,” said Pamela Ellison, who lives nearby. “I’m very thankful that I was not sitting on my front porch.”

Police said they received reports that a blue car was seen speeding from the scene but they have not been able to conclusively link it to the shooting.
