PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (Mountain Top News) – A 17-year-old girl was accidentally shot and killed by sibling in a rural Pike County community.
Kentucky State Police were called to a home in the Kimper community for reports a shooting. A 17-year-old girl was found with a gunshot wound and was transported to Pikeville Medical Center where she later died.
The preliminary investigation indicates she was accidentally shot by her sibling. The victim’s body was transported to Frankfort for an autopsy.
No charges were filed and KSP officials say none are anticipated.
