KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) – Three people charged in a human trafficking case will appear in court today.

The case started back in April when a missing 16-year-old from Knox County was found in Cincinnati. Tiffany Cheek, Michael Nason and Carl Hickman were charged with kidnapping after allegedly showing phony paperwork that claimed legal custody.

The missing teen was eventually found alive in the back of a U-Haul in Cincinnati. Nason has also been charged with rape.

Nason and Cheek will appear in Knox County Circuit Court today for a pre-trial conference. Carl Hickman is expected to be arraigned.

The sheriff told LEX 18 back in April that the teen is seeking treatment and is doing okay.
