LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18 )- Friday kicks off Pride Weekend here in Lexington. This year’s festival returns to downtown with the first ever two-day event.
The family friendly event will feature music, food, and free entertainment at the courthouse plaza. Coinciding with this year’s festival is the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising in New York and the 20th anniversary of the Lexington Fairness Ordinance.
Those anniversaries are highlighted in exhibitions at the Lexington Public Library just across from the Pridefest site.
The festivities kick off tonight at 7. There will be food trucks, vendors, kids activities and entertainment on both days.
