McLEAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Kentucky State Police trooper was recovering after crashing his cruiser in western Kentucky.

Officials said the crash occurred Thursday afternoon in McLean County.

According to State Police, Trooper Adam Wright was attempting to pull over a speeding car on U.S. Highway 431 when the suspect sped away.

During the ensuing chase, Wright lost control of his cruiser during a curve and hit an embankment.
