LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX News) — Nearly four dozen students across the Fayette County Public Schools District have been selected for this year's Junior Achievement's Leadership Lexington Youth Program (JA LLYP).
The group consists of 31 students at FCPS and 13 students attending private schools. They will get hands-on experience to see what it takes to be a community leader.
An orientation is scheduled for early September. Afterwards, the group will meet one Wednesday a month to learn about different parts of the community, including Health & Human Services, Government & Public Safety, Arts & Media, and more.
At the end of the program, students will have a graduation luncheon in April.
