AAA has a suggestion to keep your car doors from freezing

(LEX 18) — The return of snow and freezing temperatures kept AAA workers very busy overnight, from changing dead batteries to towing vehicles off the side of the road.

Lexington police say there were close to 30 collisions and more than a dozen calls for driver assistance.

Pierce says there are also calls related to frozen doors. He expects more of those tomorrow. As people use their vehicle today, ice will melt between the door and car. Overnight, it can freeze and create a struggle to get in the morning.

Frozen doors can lead to broken door handles. Pierce suggests that drivers rub a little WD-40 on the water seal to prevent damage.

"It's going to make sure no water gets around these edges and form a barrier between the rubber and the door and freeze the door," said Pierce
