JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — Crews recovered the body of a missing man from Jessamine County.

According to the Jessamine County Emergency Management Agency, after days of searching, the man's body was found in High Bridge. Many family members were on scene Monday as crews removed the man from the Kentucky River after 5 days of searching.

"This incident brings to life the reality of how dangerous and how quickly things can change with swift water conditions on any body of water," the agency writes in a Facebook post.

Officials recommend people always use a personal floatation device when out on the water.
