ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The family of an Anderson County High graduate involved in a serious crash is preparing to "give the gift of life."

Jill Hurst's mother posted on Facebook Wednesday that Hurst is still alive. Her mother said Jill "is currently being monitored and prepared to give others the gift of life through the donation of her organs."

The mother also said in the post, "Please know that my sweet Jill is still with us. We are heartbroken that Jill will no longer be with us at some point in the coming days."

Jill Hurst was injured Friday in a crash and was taken to the University of Kentucky Hospital.

David Henderson, 30, is charged with first-degree assault in the case.

Police say Henderson ran from a traffic stop in Harrodsburg and crashed after fleeing to Lawrenceburg. Kentucky State Police say that more charges are pending in the case.
