DANVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Boyle County Emergency Management is preparing for tomorrow’s ice storm.

Predictions say that Danville may be in the center of the storm, but Emergency Management Director Mike Wilder says they are ready for whatever happens. Many of the men and women on his team were there for the ice storm of 2009, but he warns people if they don’t need to be out on the roads please don’t drive.

“Tomorrow morning, you don’t need to be out. I don’t care who you are. I’m not going to be out if it does what it does, I’m not going not going to out,” said Wilder.

Wilder says they are expecting between 1/4 of an inch of to 3/4 an inch of ice. Back during the 2009 ice storm, Danville got an inch which was treacherous.

“The black ice is something that everybody needs to think about very much. Don’t get on the road at all if you think it’s bad. You may think it’s clear but it’s not and tomorrow will be one of those days I’m sure,” says Wilder.
